Set directly along the riverbank, our Riverfront Tents look straight out onto the Rufiji. The view is uninterrupted — water moving past, birds along the edges, and the steady presence of the river from morning through to night.
The tents are large and thoughtfully furnished in a modern yet classic safari style, evoking the spirit of a classic safari under canvas. Each tent has solar power for lights and a fan and an ensuite bathroom with hot water— some inspired by our mud hut design, others open-air, where you can shower under the moonlight after a dusty day in the park.
Each one opens onto a veranda facing the river. It’s where the day tends to settle — after a game drive, in the late afternoon light, or in the quiet hour before dinner.
At night, the canvas changes the experience. Sound carries more easily — the river, the movement outside, the low rhythm of the bush. It’s not something you tune into so much as something you become aware of, gradually.
Sleeping here feels close to the environment in a way solid walls don’t quite manage.
