Family Banda

Spread out along the river, with two bedrooms and space to settle into.

Spread out on the riverfront

The Family Banda is the largest room in camp, with two separate bedrooms and a shared bathroom set across a more generous footprint. Built with a raised frame, canvas, and wood, the structure sits lightly in the bush. In the mornings, you hear movement before you see it.

The veranda faces the river, where the Rufiji moves steadily past. Early mornings often begin here with coffee before heading out, watching the water as the day starts to build. In the afternoon, it’s a place to come back to — the light dropping, the river drawing things down to it again.

Inside, the room is furnished with locally made timber pieces in a modern, classic safari style. Softly lit in the evenings, the room has a solar power system providing lighting and a fan to keep you cool during the warmer nights.

The bathroom is open-air, allowing you to shower under the stars and to the sounds of the bush. Featuring hot water showers and all the amenities, it’s the kind of space you linger in a little longer than you meant to.

It’s the kind of space you return to easily, with time on the veranda at the edges of the day.
